Roberto Clemente Handwritten Letter

Roberto Clemente Handwritten Letter

Roberto was always the gentleman. With a refreshing sense of chivalrous charm, he wrote this letter to a lovely young woman in San Juan back in the '60s. "My dear Yvonne," it begins in Spanish, "I was happy to receive your card, it's always good to know how friends in Puerto Rico are doing. Tell them I said hello. If one day you come to Pittsburgh, let me know." He signed it with a charming, "Always your friend who loves you" and attached a very carefree "Roberto" in blue ink, which today grades a splendid 9/10. Handwritten on back is "Pittsburgh B.B. Club, Forbes Field, Penna." 6 x 9" letter is nearly flawless w/3 light fold marks and innocuous discoloration. O/w EX-MT. Letter was obtained directly from the woman it was written to.
