Rocky Graziano Original Fight Poster

Rocky Graziano Original Fight Poster

Dating from 1947, this vintage poster features Rocky Graziano in a 4-round exhibition match with a heavyweight, as well as other matches on the undercard. A mauler with a strong right hand, Graziano grew up in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and, turning professional, soon moved up from welterweight to middleweight. His three fights with Tony Zale are considered by many to be among the greatest series between two fighters in boxing history. Totaling only fifteen rounds, all three fights ended in knockouts. Graziano won the title in the second fight, held on July 16, 1947, and then lost the fight and title to Zale in their third, and last, fight on June 10, 1948. This awesome 28" x 22" original poster is printed vividly in three colors and features a great photo of Graziano. The paper poster was once folded, but has been mounted on heavy stock, with creases only lightly visible. Material is missing from three small spots, and there is minor soiling at the lower right corner. Condition is VG+ overall.
