Rocky Marciano is the only champion to hold the Heavyweight Title and go untied and undefeated throughout his career, defending his title six times. Offered here is a rare, original boxing license of Marciano.This is his boxing license for the State Of Massachusetts for the year August 15, 1949-August 15, 1950. Marciano fought twice in Massachusetts that year, defeating Pete Louthis and Gino Buonvino in fights leading up to his championship challenge. The license is made out to his birth name, Rocco Marchegiano and includes his ring name. This original boxing license was issued before he won the Heavyweight Title. The color and type remain bold. Numbered 309 for the year at a fee of $15.00. Lists his name, address, date of birth, manager and other pertinent information. Not creased or torn. Minor edge and corner wear, minor surface wear. Not signed by Marciano. The only boxing license for this great Heavyweight Champion we have seen, measures 3x5".
