Rocky Marciano Signed 16x20" Photo
In 1998, Ring magazine named Rocco Francis Marchegiano, or as we know him, "Rocky Marciano", as the sixth greatest boxing heavyweight champion ever. An Italian-American from Brockton, Massachusetts, Marciano was the heavyweight champion of the world from September 23, 1952, to April 27, 1956. He was the only heavyweight champion in boxing history to retire having won every fight in his professional career. This 16 x 20" photo has been framed to 21 x 25", and features a black and white shot of Marciano during a fight. It was signed by "The Rock from Brockton" in fading red ballpoint pen and reads, "To Harry Thomas (Keep Punchin') Rocky Marciano". During the horror/sci-fi boom of the 1950's, famed make-up artist Harry Thomas was associated with some of the most memorable personalities and pictures of the period. He worked with Roger Corman, Ed Wood, and Tor Johnson. Thomas worked on films like "Frankenstein's Daughter", "Killers from Space", and "The Ten Commandments". Thomas began his career in the 1930's with one of his first jobs at MGM.
