Rod Carew 3,000th Hit First Base (Team-Signed)

Rod Carew 3,000th Hit First Base (Team-Signed)

Rod Carew reached the 3,000-hit plateau by singling against his former club, the Minnesota Twins, on August 4, 1985. Carew was both the first member of the 3,000-Hit Club to join as a member of an expansion team (the California Angels) and the first member born in a foreign country (Panama). From that memorable game in 1985 is the actual first base Carew stepped on for his 3,000th hit.The base shows terrific use and was thoughtfully signed by the entire Angels team, including Gene Autry, before being presented to the future Hall of Famer. This incredible keepsake comes directly from Carew‚s personal collection and was inscribed "The base from my 3,000th hit, August 4, 1985 vs. Minnesota Twins."Comes with a photo of Carew in the locker room after the hit with this very base.
