Roger Maris Signed Photograph from The Whitey Ford Collection (PSA)

Roger Maris was the man who broke Babe Ruth's single season MLB home run record when Maris hit 61 homers in 1961. The record engendered some controversy since Maris hit his 61st homer on the final day of a 162-game season, and Ruth set the previous record in a 154-game season. Maris was an excellent all-around player in his early career, and he was a fine right fielder with a strong arm. Maris played his key seasons with the New York Yankees, and won 3 World Series, and he was a 2-time AL MVP. The approx. "8" x10" color photo depicts a smiling Maris in an away Yankee uniform. Maris autographed the photo in blue ink with a large, neatly written signature with a Sharpie in blue ink. The photo is in Excellent condition and comes directly from the Whitey Ford family. Comes with PSA LOA.
