Round-Up Cigar Framed Advertising Sign - c.1911

Round-Up Cigar Framed Advertising Sign - c.1911

Round Up cigars were a popular brand in the early years of the 20th century, and western themes always figured prominently in their advertising. This awesome 40 1/2" x 28" sign dates to c.1911, and depicts a lonesome cowboy conjuring an image in campfire smoke of a beautiful girl in his arms. Of course, he is sitting on a wooden case of "Round Up" cigars; the trademark image was copyrighted in 1898. Adding greatly to the overall appeal is the original frame, with "Round Up Cigar" at the top, and "roundup" along the bottom, done in rope script, within a lariat. The sepia image has some light water staining and some surface scratches, but displays quite well.
