Roy Campanella's Brooklyn Dodgers Locker Photograph
Amid a sea of Brooklyn Dodgers' jerseys on wire hangars, Roy Campanella's number 39 is the focus of this black & white clubhouse photo. Measuring 9x7", the undated photo has almost a haunting quality to it as Campy's number is the only one visible, and his shin guards and hat remain on the shelf above poised for action. Of course, Campanella's outstanding career was cut short when the beloved catcher was paralyzed in a 1958 auto accident. There is no photographer's stamp on the verso; the only marking is Campanella's name written in pencil.
