"Roy Campanella Night" Presentation Bowl (May 7, 1959)

This silver plated (on copper) presentation bowl was only given to players and coaches. It measures 10" across and 5" high. The finish is worn off on the inside of the bowl. In May 1959, the Dodgers, then playing their second season in Los Angeles, honored Campanella with "Roy Campanella Night" at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The New York Yankees agreed to make a special trip to Los Angeles to play an exhibition game against the Dodgers for the occasion. The Yankees won 6-2. The bowl is engraved with, "Yankee Dodger Game, In Honor Of Roy Campanella, May 7th, 1959, Los Angeles Coliseum." Underneath the bowl it says, "Trademark, 1883, F.B. Rogers Silver Co., Silver on Copper, 10."
