Roy Halladay Signed Inscribed Perfect Game Used Baseball (PSA)
Displayed is a signed and inscribed ball that Hall of Famer Roy Halladay pitched during the 20th perfect game in Major League history on May 29, 2010, when his Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Florida Marlins 1-0 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida. The right-hander threw 115 pitches, 72 for strikes as he struck out 11. It was the 10th no-hitter in Phillies' history, and only the second perfect game by Phillies' pitches - the first being Jim Bunning's perfect game in 1964. Halliday pitched in the Major Leagues for 16 seasons. His first 12 years were with the Toronto Blue Jays and his last four years with the Phillies. An 8-time All-Star, Halliday won two Cy Young Awards; His first Cy Young was in 2003 with the Toronto Blue Jays when he went 22-7 and his second Cy Young Award in 2010 with Philadelphia when Halliday had a 21-10 record. The Rawlings Official Major League (Selig) ball was purchased from a friend of Halliday. The right-hander has signed the ball on the sweet spot in blue ink from a ballpoint pen. Under his signature, Halliday inscribed, "PG GU/5-29-10." The signature and inscription exhibit some slight fading. Halliday had a lifetime record of 203-105. He passed away on Nov. 7, 2017, when the plane he was piloting crashed into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida. The ball shows nice game wear, with scuff marks, dirt, and small stains. The signed and inscribed baseball comes with a PSA Letter of Authenticity.
