Rube Marquard Windup Original Glass Plate Negative
Original glass negative capturing Hall of Fame pitcher Rube Marquard as a member of the New York Giants. Marquard is pictured warming up on the sidelines prior to a game at the Polo Grounds. The notation "Marquard Pitcher N. Y. Nat." is written along the left border. Although no date is listed, the uniform style shown here was worn by the Giants only during the 1912 season. The glass negative (7x5") displays small areas of emulsion loss along the border areas that do not affect the central image. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive.
