Seven-time All-Star Rudy York played the majority of his 13 Major League seasons with the Detroit Tigers and this full, all-original uniform comes directly from the York family with a letter from a family member included. The jersey has "45" stitched in the tail, signifying the first baseman's last year with the Tigers. York wore number 4 but number 48 is on the back of this jersey, as it was likely used for spring training or when he came back for an Old Timers' function. One thing is for certain: Rudy York kept this jersey and took it home. There is a Wilson size 46 tag in the collar and "48" also written. The lot includes a Tigers cap that has "Brooklyn Safety Cap" tagging and "7 1/8 R. York" stitched in the band. Home Tigers pants and stirrups are included, and all items show good use. The pants have Wilson size 42 tagging and "30" "28 in" and "47" sewn inside. These are not tagged as York's but again, he took them home with him. In total, a great ensemble from a terrific Tigers slugger.
