"Rumble in the Jungle" Medallions Belonging to Angelo Dundee
The famous trainer and cornerman who worked with 16 champion fighters possessed a nice collection of bling, as evidenced by this nifty lot which includes the following: 1) a special framed 1.5" medal with Muhammad Ali on the front and a map of Africa on verso. The ultimate "bling" piece, this would look great on a longer silver chain. 2) Identical to #1 but the bronze version unframed, and 3) unusual Hickok "Thrilla in Manilla" leather boxing glove with "Manila, Philippines" and sports leather maker "Hickok" mark. The "Thrilla" writing is faded but the identification card from the Dundee auction is included.
