Russian Cosmonauts Signed Envelope - Gagarin, Titov & Komarov (PSA)
Envelope signed by three of the most significant space pioneers in the Soviet program: Yuri Gagarin, Gherman Titov and Vladimir Komarov. This commemorative envelope of the Soviet Space program was created in the early 1960s after the successful flight of Titov in August of 1961. The two launched stars in the envelope's logo represent Gargarin and Titov as the first men to orbit the earth, both ahead of John Glenn in the American program. Gagarin is the most famous figure as the first man to go into space. Titov was the first to spend a full day in space, to do multiple orbits (17), and has the dubious distinction of being the first to experience space sickness. Komarov, the rarest of these three autographs, was the commander of the first space mission with a crew (1964), and then in 1967 became the first man to fly twice into the orbit of the earth. He regrettably became the first human to give his life in a space mission, dying in re-entry of that second flight. The envelope is in pristine shape, no folds, and has been stored in archival UV protection. Mint condition with minor pencil writing on back. PSA encapsulated.
