Ryne Sandberg Career Home Run Balls Number 90 And 138

Ryne Sandberg Career Home Run Balls Number 90 And 138

Ryne Sandberg knocked out 282 homers during his 15 NL seasons with the Cubs. Ryno sent these two clear out of Wrigley Field, one in ’87, the other in ’89. Both were caught by Chicago area ballhawk Rich Buhrke. He is one of a core base of 7 or 8 who has patrolled Wrigley regularly for years. Both balls come with Buhrke’s descriptions of the details of the homers, as seen from the street outside Wrigley. The one from ’87 was Ryno’s 90th. The one from ’89, his 138th. Both show where Sandberg tattooed them, and come with LOAs. Also included is an issue of Sports Illustrated dated 4/25/77. On page 50 you’ll find an in-depth article on the ballhawk himself, Rich Buhrke.
