Sadaharu Oh Game Used Bat Given to Pete Rose
This one-of-a-kind Sadaharu Oh game-used bat is signed "TO PETE" and Oh has signed it in both English and Japanese. The bat has "made for special order" stamped on the knob. Emails that are included with the bat say that Oh gave it to Pete Rose in 1978 during an MLB trip to Japan. Rose apparently then gave the bat to Tommy Gioiosa, who then gave it to another friend before it got to our consignor. Bat is stamped with "Jun Ishui established 1899, Super Grade." "Sun Ishui Paternon" appears on the barrel but it is difficult to read words under the inscription. The first 10" of the bat are not coated with sealant; the rest of the bat is. Bat measures 34 5/8", weighs 34 ounces, and shows light use. LOA.
