Sammy Sosa 500 Home Run Signed Game Used Baseball
The Cubs' Sammy Sosa's historic homer came off Reds reliever Scott Sullivan in the top of the seventh inning on Friday night, April 4th, 2003, at Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park. Sosa's blast came on a 1-2 fastball at the knees and he ripped it over the right-center field wall. Sammy Sosa became the 18th member and first Latin American player of the 500 Home Run club. This Rawlings Official (Selig) baseball was used during that game, but is not the baseball where Sosa made his 500th home run. Sosa has signed the baseball on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint pen, and has also written, underneath his name, "Game Used 4-4-03".
