Seductive Betty Boop "Out of the Inkwell" Inkwell

Seductive Betty Boop "Out of the Inkwell" Inkwell

Fascinating piece, whose very essence plays on the name of the Fleischer cartoon series she debuted in, "Out of the Inkwell." Figural all-celluloid inkwell is hand-painted and dates from the 1920s. Multiple pieces of celluloid combine to provide a wonderful art deco look. European piece (probably French), even has two round objects resembling breasts that flip up and down mechanically to cover inkwells. Original ink pots are porcelain. 3" tall. Small tab that allows her to flip is snapped off, otherwise excellent condition.
