Steve Shutt’s 1981 Canada Cup Ring
The 1981 Team Canada squad boasted such all-time greats as Gretzky, Lafleur, Perreault, Trottier, Bossy, Bourque, & Potvin. Unfortunately the team dubbed, “Team Awesome” failed to show up against the Soviet Union, who dominated the Canadians by 8 goals to 1 - an embarrassment for the NHL to say the very least. This 18-karat gold souvenir is quite the consolation prize. It belonged to legendary Montreal Canadian, Steve Schutt. Solid gold with four diamonds across the bottom of the top oval, which is half of a Maple Leaf surrounded by “Coupe Canada Cup” in raised lettering. Left and right shanks are filled with “19” and “81”, denoting the year. Size 10.5 is in NRMT condition.
