Stupendous St. Louis Stars Negro League Team Photograph from the Cool Papa Bell Collection (circa 1930)
Terrific Negro League photo was taken right around the time of their illustrious 1930 Negro National League Championship. Shown here in all their glory are such legends who never got to play for the white folks (most of the time) including Cool Papa Bell, Mule Suttles, Willie Wells, are all here. "James Bell" is written on the back in pencil. Printed, but appears to be his handwriting. Some soiling but exhibits nice contrast. Has creasing but still is GD-VG condition on this vintage original. 7x5". Photographer’s blind stamp at bottom right appears to read something like "J.E. Mik__."
