Super Bowl III is best remembered for Namath's boasts that his huge underdog Jets would take the game. When they did, it changed the outlook of the old NFL towards the newer AFL. This helped propel football into the center of the spotlight of American sports. This replica trophy has been produced in the last 5-10 years and is in magnificent condition. It is manufactured by R.S. Owens who is now the same company that makes all of the trophies that are actually handed out to the victors. This trophy is made from the same mold. It reads "Vince Lombardi Trophy" over a raised "NFL" logo. Below that is "Super Bowl III Champions", and at the bottom "The New York Jets." The R.S. Owens official sticker is attached to the felt on the bottom of the trophy. A great conversation piece that would enhance any showcase. NRMT, with the slightest of scratches about an inch from the laces.
