"Superman II" Cape (Photo-Matched with Detailed LOA)

"Superman II" Cape (Photo-Matched with Detailed LOA)

This was used during the shooting of the famous Niagara Falls scene in the movie "Superman II," starring Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder. The cape comes with an LOA by a member of the Park Police working the shoot and states that the cape was given to him at that time. According to the LOA provided by the consignor, there were approximately six capes used during this shooting. Color photos taken by the consignor photo-match the cape, and show candids of Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, and others on set, including the boy actor who, in the movie, fell over the railing into the Falls and was saved by Superman. Cape measures four feet long from the neck. It is a large red felt cape with a yellow Superman patch sewn onto the back. There is a light blue cloth drawstring in the neck, and a satin-like material reinforces the cloth around the neck on the interior. Cape shows moderate to heavy wear with some small tears and holes on the interior.
