T206 Tobacco Card Collection (375)

T206 Tobacco Card Collection (375)

Among the most popular of any sports card set ever produced, the T206's were originally included as premiums with tobacco products form 1909-1911. 25% of the collection averages EX or better with two examples graded EX-MT by SGC. 50% of the collection averages VG to VG-EX. 25% of the collection averages Poor to Good (mostly Fair to Good). Grades range from Fair to EX-MT with the collection averaging VG-EX. Collection is chock full of Hall of Famers and Southern Leaguers. Most of the collection bares a Sweet Caporal back while the Southern Leaguers bare the typical Old Mill back. There is also one each of a Cycle, Tolstoi, and El Principe De Gales back. There are (31) Hall of Famer’s, other stars and tough to find cards including Baker (VG-EX), Beckley (VG-EX), Bender Portrait-El Principe De Gales (VG), Bender Pitching w/ trees (Good to VG), Bresnahan Portrait (Fair), Bresnahan w/ bat (Good), Chance yellow Portrait (Fair), Chase blue Portrait-Cycle (VG), Chase holding Trophy (Fair), Chesbro (VG+), Eddie Collins (Good), George Davis Chicago (VG), Duffy (VG+), Evers Portrait SGC 60 EX, Griffith Portrait (VG-EX), Griffith Batting (VG-EX), Jennings Portrait (EX), Jennings both hands showing (VG-EX), Keeler (Good to VG), Kelley (VG-EX), Marquard hands at thighs (VG+), McGraw Portrait, no cap (VG), McGraw glove at hip (VG-EX), McGraw finger in air (EX), Pattee (VG+), Powers (VG-EX), Schaefer Detroit (VG), Speaker SGC 70 EX+, Tinker Bat on shoulder (Good), Wallace (VG+) and Wheat (VG). Nine of the cards average Good to VG. An interesting overprint card of Snodgrass Batting (EX) is also included. There is little duplication throughout the collection.
