Ted Williams Painting For Sports Illustrated (24x32")
Donald Moss was the premier artist for Sports Illustrated, painting more covers and editorial illustrations than any American painter. For over three decades he has provided a record of American sport, delineated by his supreme talent. His accomplishments in the sports art field have earned Moss the “Sports Artist of the Year” award by the American Sports Art Museum and Archive, and his works have graced the walls of every major sports Hall of Fame as well as The National Art Museum of Sport. Presented here is one of his finest masterpieces. Ted’s powerful arms burst from the surface of this brilliant painting as his swing unleashes a spectrum of vivid colors. Originally commissioned by Sports Illustrated in 1968 for use on its cover, the multi-medium masterpiece would later hang in the halls of the Smithsonian and appeared in the pages of its book entitled, “Champions of American Sport.” Textured image is partially raised - the arms creating a "bionic" effect. Created with acrylic paints on canvas this fine piece has remained in NRMT condition. Signed by the artist on the verso. Framed to 30x38”.
