Ted Williams Program Collection Including 1941 All-Star Game With Ticket Stub (3)
Has a player ever had a season as good as Ted Williams did in 1941 without being named Most Valuable Player? All "The Splendid Splinter" did that summer was lead the American League with a .406 batting average, 37 home runs, 1.287 OPS, 135 runs scored and 147 walks while also driving in 120 runs. And for a kicker, Williams belted a walk-off grand slam in the All-Star Game. From that Midsummer Classic comes this program, which is in EX condition, while the ticket stub rates VG due to paper loss. Also included in this lot is a 1952 Ted Williams Day program with two-page cover (probably wrapped around the regular program that day) and featuring pictures of "Teddy Ballgame" in full batting pose. It was issued as a tribute because Williams was leaving for war and grades VG-EX. Ted Williams Night in Cleveland features Ted's Hitters Hands and was a tribute as the Hall of Famer marched to retirement two weeks later. NRMT.
