The 100,000 Dollar Infield Philadelphia A's Glass Plate Negative

The 100,000 Dollar Infield Philadelphia A's Glass Plate Negative

Tremendous circa 1910s image of the fabled "$100,000 Infield" of the Philadelphia Athletics. Standing side-by-side on the top dugout step are Stuffy McInnis, Frank "Home Run" Baker, Jack Barry, and Eddie Collins. Brilliant 5x7" negative produces a crisp black and white image of the World Champions; one can practically see the faces of individual fans in stylish straw hats. Slight image loss to the edges, not uncommon in glass plates of this type, central image not impacted. Negative comes from the massive Brown Brothers photo collection.
