Dr. Seuss, a.k.a. Theodor Geisel, was childless, and famously stated, “You make ‘em, I amuse ‘em.” Among the twenty photographs is the Pulitzer-honored Geisel, the author posing with a few of his stuffed characters (especially his Cat in the Hat), images of Yertle the Turtle and Daisy-Head Mayzie, and lastly the announcement of the beloved writer’s death. Wire photos average 8x10”, with some front captions, and details on verso including affixed original press clippings and paper captions, news service and date stamps, and production notes.
