The Eagles White Matte Gold Record Award

The Eagles White Matte Gold Record Award

This important piece is presented to founding member Berbie Leadon, guitarist and banjo player. It is for their legendary "Deperado "album. From 1958-1974 the minimum requirement for a gold certificate was one million in sales at manufacturer's wholesale prices. A rare opportunity to acquire an Eagles keepsake. From January 1975, an additonal requirement by the RIAA was that an album sell 500,000 copies. With the criteria changed, The Eagles' "Greatest Hits" went platinum in February 1976. Platinum certification only began in January of 1976. Multi platinum began in 1985. N.Y. Framer sticker on verso and very minor frame scratches.
