The Earliest Known Otis Redding Poster (1963)

The Earliest Known Otis Redding Poster (1963)

Pure R&B showcase known as the “Magnificent Montague’s & his Down Home Soul Show-Dance” is at the Rockland Palace in Harlem. From Friday, January 4, 1963, this is the earliest known poster of the great Otis Redding. In fact his name is misspelled Otis “Reeding.” A hoist of other incredible acts listed with their hits staggers the imagination: Jimmy Reed (Honest I Do), John Lee Hooker (Boom Boom), Dionne Warwick, Johnny Thunder, Booker T and the M.G.’s (Green Onion), Carla Thomas, Shirelles, Rufus Thomas, Orioles, Ben E. King (Stand By Me), Gene Chandler (Duke of Earl), Sam & Dave (She’s Alright), and “Otis Reeding” (These Arms of Mine). Edge wear and slight trimming but find another (only one known). 20.5x15.25”.
