The First Flag Flown at Cincinnati's Riverfront Stadium

The First Flag Flown at Cincinnati's Riverfront Stadium

On June 23, 1970, this American flag was flown atop Cincinnati's Riverfront Stadium, which would open its doors for its inaugural baseball game a week later. The vintage tag attached reads: "Flag flown over stadium during construction. Presented 23 May 1970 by Cincinnati building trades council. Flown until 30 June." The flag shows use but is still in nice condition. It comes from the sale that the Reds had when Riverfront was closed down after the Bengals played the final game there in late 2002.
