The Godfather 1 & 2 One Sheet Movie Posters and Mario Puzo Signed Excerpt (3)
Perhaps the most acclaimed series in film history, Francis Ford Coppola's "Godfather" movies were critical and commercial successes, and movie posters from the first two of the trilogy can hang in your home or office if you make us an offer we can't refuse. The original Godfather captured the 1972 Best Picture Oscar and the follow-up two years later became the first sequel ever to win the top award (since matched by "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" in 2003). Featuring the classic marionette logo, the posters measure 28" x 42" and have typical fold lines. Both have light blemishes but are in EX-MT condition. The third item in the lot is a framed and matted signed quotation from novel author Mario Puzo. The excerpt is that of Don Corleone's speech to the other dons regarding his son Michael. Along with a photo of lead actor Marlon Brando and a "Godfather 25th Anniversary" card, the pieces measure 13" x 22". Originally based on Puzo's novel, "The Godfather" and its sequels follow the fictional mafia family the Corleones, with the last installment coming 16 years after Part 2.
