The Holy Grail of Cassius Clay Posters (1960 Olympics)
Extremely rare and highly desirable poster showcasing the 1960 Eastern Regional Boxing US Olympic Trials featuring an amateur Cassius Clay. The competition occurred on April 14, 15, and 16 at Freedom Hall in Lexington, Kentucky, during which the future Heavyweight Champ made short work of his competition, defeating Roy Ector on April 14, Fred Walden on the 15th, and Charles Hannah on the 16th, ALL by TKO. Perhaps the earliest known poster of Clay, who is featured in the bottom-right corner. The consignor‚s father is shown on the top-left punching his opponent in the face. The poster - which is affixed to a foam board - measures 17x23" and is quad-folded with minor creasing but otherwise is in Very Good to Excellent condition.
