The Titanic Maiden Voyage Advertising Poster

The Titanic Maiden Voyage Advertising Poster

The most anticipated ship voyage in the history of the world, on board an “unsinkable” ship seemed a benefit and a privelage to all involved. At the time of launching on April 10, 1912 at noon time, over 100,000 people had gathered on the banks of the Lagan River to see the Titanic off. On board the enormous triple-screw steamer were the social elite from all walks of life, indulging in the most luxurious boat ride of their lives. Benjamin Gugenheim, John Jacob Astor, Charles Hays, Archibald Gracie and countless other high profile passengers embarked on that ominous journey, never to return home. Offered is a great piece of advertising for White Star - American Line company, which announced the ominous “Maiden Voyage” of the Titanic. Fabulous text printed on the poster outlines the important details: “Southampton - New York Service, The Royal Mail Triple-Screw Steamer - ‘Titanic’ will be despatched from Southampton to New York on her Maiden Voyage on Wednesday, April 10th, 1912, at noon.” The apparent creasing to the poster has been expertly restored and in Excellent condition. Mounted on linen. 11.5x16.5".
