Three Finger Brown Glass Plate Negative
Great vintage action shot of Mordecai "Three Fingers" Brown circa 1910s. The Hall of Famer is shown just after releasing a pitch at what appears to be the Polo Grounds, glove at the ready with fielder in background. Brown lost parts of two fingers in a farming accident but capitalized on that to create the grip for a wicked curve ball, close to today's knuckler. Plate is 7x5", slight image loss at edges which does not at all mar the central image. Part of the Brown Brothers collection from the famous photo service.
