Three Football Awards Including Forrest Gregg "Lineman Of The Year"
Gridiron historians will appreciate this trio of awards, some of which are a little banged up. There's a cup honoring Hall of Fame tackle Forrest Gregg of the Green Bay Packers on being the "Lineman of the Year" for 1968 as voted on by the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Football Writers Association of America. The 7" tall cup has one of its four legs is detached and there are some markings on the front but otherwise it is in decent shape. The second award is from the New York Giants to tackle Rosie Brown, dated October 30, 1960 with the wording on the base reading: "WITH GREATEST APPRECIATION AND FRIENDSHIP FROM YOUR TEAMMATES AND COACHES." The brass football portion of the piece, which features engraved player signatures, is detached and dented. The third item in the lot honors the undefeated 1970 Dartmouth Big Green, which took home the Lambert Trophy. This replica was given to halfback Alex Turner and his name is prominently displayed above a complete list of opponents, team scores and season totals. Of the nine games listed, it's worth noting that six of the wins were via shutout.
