Three Trophy Baseballs
Straight from the mantle of Hall of Fame Cardinals second baseman and World Series-winning skipper Red Schoendienst, these three baseballs are significant keepsakes. The 1967 and 1987 balls have wood bases and were awarded to Red for the anniversaries of those teams. The plaques read, respectively: "10th ANNIVERSARY PRESENTED AT BUSCH STADIUM JULY 1, 1997 RED SCHOENDIENST" and "30th ANNIVERSARY PRESENTED AT BUSCH STADIUM JULY 25, 1997 RED SCHOENDIENST." There's also an official National League (Feeney) baseball presented for his 1,000th managerial victory, which occurred on September 12, 1976 vs. the Mets in St. Louis. The ball has "1000" written on the sweet spot in red marker. Schoendienst managed 1,999 career games and produced a terrific 1,041-955 record. He won World Series both as a player and manager with the Cards, not to mention one with the Milwaukee Braves.
