Thurman Munson-Related Ticket Group Including Full (5)

Killed in the prime of his life, Thurman Munson remains a beloved Yankee to this day, and this lot helps celebrate his legacy as a tough-nosed All-Star. The full ticket (NRMT) comes from the first Game the Yankees played after flying in from Thurman Munson's Funeral on August 6, 1979. With heavy hearts, the Yankees rallied from a 4-0 deficit at Yankee Stadium that night to beat eventual AL Champion Baltimore, with close friend Bobby Murcer driving in all five of the team's runs. Here are ticket stubs from Munson's last game (a 9-1 victory at Chicago five days earlier), along with a Mass Card (GD) and a stub to a mid-summer Yanks-Brewers game.
