Tom Yawkey's Telephone From Fenway Park

Tom Yawkey's Telephone From Fenway Park

Tom Yawkey served as owner of the Boston Red Sox from 1933 to 1976, purchasing the club for 1.2 million dollars as something of a 30th birthday president to himself. The Hall of Fame executive used this vintage rotary telephone for several of those years in his Fenway Park office, conducting lots of team business. The base measures 5" x 7.5", the receiver is thin, which is typical from that 1930s-40s era, the cord is in great shape and the dial rotates perfectly. The Red Sox's old phone number is printed in the center of the dial: COpley 7-2525, Ext. 79. The end of the wire is split with some repair tape. Overall condition is EX. A terrific artifact!
