Ainslee's Magazine was a literary magazine that often featured some of the greatest American writers of the 19th and 20th centuries. The magazine published from 1897-1926, and some of their legendary writers included: Stephen Crane, O. Henry (William Sydney Porter), Jack London, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Bret Harte, and Dorothy Parker. This poster is for a monthly issue that includes a story by Allen Sangree called "Training a Football Team." It is touted as featuring "Anecdotes of Heroes and Demigods of Famous Elevens." The players are not wearing any helmets, but it's interesting that one of the players is wearing a combined nose and mouth guard. Poster has some small tears around the edges. Poster is 14.25x20.75". Put on archival board and then onto canvas, it measures 16.5x22.75".
