Turn of the Century Spalding Harvard Style Football Helmet
Players took their lumps when wearing this leather Harvard-style football helmet produced by Spalding, but those were real men with heads like clamshells so we're not too worried. The dark brown helmet is made of hard leather in the style worn by the Crimson in the early 1900s. There is a crude cloth chin strap to hold the helmet in place and two big ear flaps with extra padding inside. Spalding logo is imprinted on both ear flaps and is still clearly visible. The original stitching is all in place. It even has most of the original water repellent applied at the factory. Helmet comes with a copy of a page from the Spalding catalog showing this very rare helmet -- so rare that only a precious few still exist. A helmet that turns back time.
