Two Different 1936 Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling Full Tickets
On June 19, 1936, Joe Louis and Max Schmeling fought in the main event at Yankee Stadium. Louis was undefeated and a rising star in the division. This fight was seen as another stepping stone to a title shot for Louis. In a stunning upset, Schmeling would KO Louis in the 12th round. Presented here are two full tickets from this event. These tickets include a proof ticket stamped "Specimen" which is illustrated with chipping and five hole punches, and a full, unused ticket which is illustrated in VG condition with a small closed tear and mild fading. These tickets are far rarer than the second fight between these two.
