Two "Eight Men Out" Cast Rings
Though not as popular or mainstream as "Field of Dreams," "Bull Durham" or "The Natural," another 1980s baseball movie did have an impact on the big screen. John Sayles' "Eight Men Out" recounted the scandalous 1919 Chicago "Black Sox" and the eight players on that team who participated in throwing the World Series to the Cincinnati Reds. These two rings - both size 9.5 - were given strictly to cast members and executives associated with the film. One ring represents the White Sox and the other the Reds. Each has "1919" in the center, although the former is set against a black background and the latter against red. Both faces bear the wording: "WORLD SERIES 8 MEN OUT." The Chicago ring has "AMERICAN" on one shank and "WHITE SOX" on the other, while the Cincinnati ring has "NATIONAL" and "CINCINNATI REDS" visible. Both are in NRMT condition and there is "Artcarved" stamping inside.
