Two "Fans Looking at the Scoreboard" Postcards Including Brooklyn
Pair of vintage colorized postcards, circa 1910s, each picturing fans crowded in front of a store window watching a baseball player board. The first captures the Brooklyn faithful following the action during a World Series game (most likely 1916). The text at the base reads "Where Brooklyn Watched the World's Series, Fulton St. at DeKalb Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y." The postcard (5.5x3.5"), which has not been addressed or mailed, displays a heavy vertical crease and a few pencil notations on the reverse. In Good condition. The second pictures a mob of fans on a street lined with horse carriages as they check on the score of a Missouri Drummers (Western League) game. The printed caption on the front reads "View on South 6th St., St. Joseph, MO. Showing loyal Base Ball Boosters watching Score Board when Drummers play away from home." The postcard (5.5x3.5") has been addressed and mailed, with the postmark reading "St. Joseph MO Sept 27 1911." In Very Good condition, with light creasing.
