Ty Cobb First-Generation T206 Pose Vintage Photograph by Carl Horner

Ty Cobb First-Generation T206 Pose Vintage Photograph by Carl Horner

The first and only one we have ever seen. A stunning image of Ty Cobb that is on par with the much more prolific Charles Conlon sliding shot. It depicts a young and stately Cobb peering into the camera with the strength and purpose of the devilishly proud and overachieving personage he was. The gorgeous high-back collar in black rests on his Detroit Tigers gray flannel jersey. The detail is extraordinary and there cannot be a better specimen in terms of contrast if there is one at all. There are tiny pinholes at the top left corner, but otherwise is in EX condition, measuring 4.25" x 3.25". The appearance of this across our desks, just recently along with the Wagner and Lajoie, T206 poses in this same auction, was a hobby revelation. Fresh to the market and an absolutely exceptional piece of photography.
