Ty Cobb National Baseball Hall of Fame Salesman's Sample Ring
Incredibly rare salesman's sample is the real McCoy in 10k gold nearly identical to the one Ty would have gotten. A cubic zirconia on a diamond is set on a black stone, with surrounding wording reading "Baseball Hall of Fame." The left shank bears an engraved image of the Cooperstown institution below the name "Ty Cobb" and the words "National Baseball Museum" beneath the image. The right shank has his position, "Outfielder," above a crossed-bat-and-ball image, and "Elected 1936" at the bottom. There's wonderful detail in this ring, and it is the only one we have EVER SEEN. It is a beautiful size 8 in NM condition and stamped 10K inside. This is from a important early collection of Detroit Tigers memorabilia and has not seen the light of day for decades. Most importantly, Ty Cobb was the first man ever elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown as he got the most votes. Even more than Babe Ruth who had just retired the year before. The First!
