Ty Cobb T201 Triple Folders (2)
A pair of brilliant triple folder cards from the innovative and oversized, 5 ? x 2 ?”, 1912 T202 set. On the first, the boldly colored lithographs of Hall of Famers Cobb and Hugh Jennings bookend the popular black and white photo of Cobb stealing third base. The reverse includes player biographies along with a description of the action. Below the text on each is a black print, “Hassan Cigarettes” advertisement. Framed by four nicely shaped corners it has been graded EX ‘60’ by SGC. The strong and rich images of James Austin and George Stovall surround the same centerpiece on the second example. A crease in the lower right corner and another at the midpoint of the lower border explain the VG ‘40’ grade by SGC.
