Verlon Biggs Game Worn Washington Redskins Jersey
Beautiful game worn Washington Redskins burgundy home jersey dates from 1971 or 1972 and was worn by defensive lineman Verlon Biggs his first two seasons with the 'Skins after six anchoring the New York Jets' defensive line. Having helped the Jets to their miracle championship of '69, he contributed to the 'Skins '72 Super Bowl berth. Jersey bears the original Sand Knit tags and is a size 56. The exclusive Washington Redskins tag is also intact near the tail. Biggs' number 89 is in white on both sides of the jersey with "Biggs" sewn on the nameplate in the back. Both sleeves of this jersey were ripped open to give the big defensive lineman more room for his arms and the front collar was ripped open as well. Shows great game use and team repairs from the heyday of the "Over the Hill Gang".
