Very Early Copies of "Art of Manual Defense" & "Modern Boxing" by Pendragon (2)
We offer here two very early, rare and highly desirable boxing books which you likely won't find in many libraries. First is "Modern Boxing" by Pendragon (Henry Sampson) published in London in 1879. It is 154 pages complete with stiff covers and has some binding and cover wear. Hartley # 1545. Second is "The Art Of Manual Defence" or "System of Boxing By A Pupil Of Humphreys and Mendoza." A splendid third edition from 1799 printed in London which includes lessons and illustrations by Plates. It is 133 pages complete in VG condition. Hartley # 1578.
