Very Rare 1940s Pittsburgh Pirates Game Worn Hat

Very Rare 1940s Pittsburgh Pirates Game Worn Hat

The hat is very rare and is blue with a white letter P. This style hat was only worn for a few years in the mid-1940s. It shows use, but it is in fine condition. A leather band is inside with no other tagging. A name is written under the brim which we cannot decipher, but there is also what appears to be a number "10," which was worn by Hank Camelli in 1944. That year was Camelli's best, as he hit .296. Camelli was a catcher who played five seasons in the Major Leagues, seeing limited action, between 1943 and 1947, four years with Pittsburgh and one year with the Boston Braves. An unusual Pittsburgh Pirates hat most likely used during the years of World War II.
