Very Rare 1943 Boston Braves Game Worn Cap w/Hard Liner
Very Rare 1943 Boston Braves game worn cap w/hard liner; this style was only used for a few years in the early 1940s and we assess it as from 1943 since it came with a 1943 uniform that was worn by Tony Cuccinello, so odds are that this hat was also used by Cuccinello as it has no player identifier. Making this offering even better, it has custom hard liners sewn into the panels on each side; before the advent of batting helmets, some players preferred more protection for their heads while batting. Shows nice use but also in great condition with Rawlings tag sewn in the leather band, size 7 1/8 stamped on the band, and the logo on the front in white felt is sewn on. Fantastic and very well-preserved artifact.
